When the female titan punched Eren's jaw with her crystalized fist; the manga showed it as his jaw being punched off, and then his head being punched off. The level detail is more crude and less "animated," but it feels more brutal.

That's what I loved about the manga. The anime is cool as well with it's whole semi 3D thing and the nice and clean animation, but it's always gonna be different to the whole brutal and intense vibes the manga provides.
