Recently watched and completed Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai, Enjoyed the slice of life aspect but Menma popped up way too much for me, she's a ghost haunting the main character trying to get him and his old friends back together, ending was ok.

I just call it it "Anohana." It was quite good for me. Have you seen Ano Natsu de Matteru or Clannad? They're pretty good since the characters actually end up doing stuff rather than leaving their interactions at an ambiguous ending. Clannad was feels as fck though ;-;

Oh yeah, have any of you seen any of the monogatari animes? Bakemonogatari/Nisemonogatari/.......
They are amazing

Character design kills whatever vibe the series has going no matter how depressing it is, Clannad is one of them which is why I refuse to even watch it.

Also try Bakemonogatari. It's really different from most anime in a lot of different ways. People either love it or hate it.

Yeah wasn't feeling Ano Natsu, Romance levels too high breh, Ahnohana had that but  it was toned down to a minimal while still adding to the story.

Tried watching Welcome to NHK, but there isn't a decent torrent for it yet, subs that I found were those fugly old school  yellow subs.

Old school? Hmmm I heard a lot of people liked Golden Boy (never watched it myself though) and another one called Trigun.

And yeah GTO is some of the funniest shit I've ever seen. The show was good to the point where the old school animation didn't really bother me at all. His facial expressions are perfect ;-;

Golden Boy was awesome. Perverted as hell though. Don't watch it with anyone in the room.

Watched The Girl Who Leapt Through Time. For events the character caused, the ending was fitting.

I was on twenty something, just when they start learning about Nen. I'm quite behind. I skip the intro and outro as well as some of the annoying shonen-esque scenes so I can usually get like 5-6 episodes done in an hour or so.

School starts again tomorrow (finally on my senior year) so I doubt I will be able to watch anything until october.

Shit gets dark after they learn nen(I'm assuming you're at the heavens arena arc)
I'll just stik with the ongoing stuff right now(Gangsta and Drrr!x2).. I tried adding some old series in that bunch but got no motivation to watch so I'll be sticking to Anime movies.

Starting with Summer wars and Ghibli Films I haven't watched yet.

Watch Makoto Shinkai films as well yo, the animation quality is mindblowing. His best one is The Place Promised in Our Early Days but 5 Centimeters Per Second had the best animation.

I got all these animes on my to-watch list but similar to you, I lack the motivaton to watch them. I'm just waiting for Owarimonogatari to come out in october.

I watched all of those shinkai films, about six months ago when I had nothing to watch xD

If you like old school dark anime you HAVE to watch it.

It's actually all based on true story of Taira no Masakado, the man who almost took control of Japan but was killed and is now worshipped as a demigod in shinto etc.
Its about the secret rich families/societies that built Tokyo and the superstitious beliefs as to why they built tokyo in certain way etc to keep away evil spirits etc.

K Return of Kings started off with high animation quality but shitty start story wise.

I read some of the manga for OMP some time back. I'm guessing that the anime is also good from your description.

For K: Return of the Kings. That first episode really really sucked man. It had like super flashy godlike animation but an overdose of fan service and shit story writing. I don't think I will continue watching it.
