Okay, since Newage doesn't have a Full-game section, I've decided to move the topic to the Projects section.



I hope my decision is correct.

I'd say to keep it in the release section with the full game tag, we do have a tag just no section. Considering we don't have many full game releases i didn't see it necessary.

Updating this thread to show I'm still doing stuff.

Tried figuring out a way to avoid automatic lock/splits in threads that exceed a certain amount of pages. Unfortunately it's bound by some of Forumotions limits, there's no way to increase it. I think the number is 990, though here I've seen pages go to the thousands in posts before the split.

So drawing that off, I've come to be more focused on changing the ranks/making new ranks (Not the names of the groups/ranks, just the images showcasing them). If I find a template to work with I may give it to some willing team members that're more reliable with graphics than I am.

I'm still pondering the award template too, it'll most likely end up being a small profile icon in the future.

I gotta figure out a way to make the profile fields (Posts, points, rep, join date, age, location,) etc. be more organized as well, perhaps with a line separation, we'll see how that works out.

Get rid of rep! That thing is evil.

Also, I could help out with the graphics with ranks and whatnot if you come up with some ideas. I can't make gifs like Sal Azul did though :P

I actually don't mind rep, I'm more opposed to "points" considering it's utterly useless and has nothing to do with anything, but i may consider removing both if others feel the same.

I find both useless, pointless, and rep in particular to be a catalyst for problems

Yes, it feels really unmotivating when some retard gives me -15 rep points while you were in your hiatus. Thankfully MaruPoochi and Lith fixed it.

as for the awards/medals probably just a small icon of around 30x30 on the lowerpart of the profiles may work no?

I'll remove points and rep then, thanks for making me aware of y'alls querulousness for them. As far as the awards go, I wouldn't mind a very small 30x30 icon, or a 50x50 icon, though I've tried this before with the basic trophy icon and it didn't look that great. Feel free to create examples.

instead of a square res for the trophy, we could make some custom text trophies like how they have them gamer tags on tekken/sf4 and stuff. Like "Berserker" but instead it would say "2014 Spammer of the year :)"

Once the initial trophy template is in I'll remove any joke-text I added to users profiles, lol. This would also be annoying because then I'd have to make a brand new award for every contest/member.

I have an idea, but i'm really busy with college this week, and half of next week. If ever I get some free time, i'll try making it in Photoshop.

I removed points, rep and skype options and noticed there's a skype option in the contact field which works for others but doesn't seem to work for me. I'll look into that later as it's not too important for me.

Used an invisible horizontal bar to separate personal text and the rest of the profile fields.

For the initial template for the award, could we use a splatter like how it is in tekken? I could make one of those :)

Aight, I'll give this a go then. Is it okay if I make them approximately the same size as the rank gif's?

I'm not sure if it'd work too well..Maybe if you have the year and award name ON the bar, but having that icon+text would be too large for basic profile fields.

Just make sure the image used explain the award for exaple if we ever have a stage of the year award just add a small tree there thats all.
To explain for what was every award you make a thread and explain if needed.

That's an interesting idea but i'd prefer to have a similar award for each (in its given category) obviously we don't have set competitions or even have the idea of what they'll be for. Around here it could be all the way from a stage to a banner at any random time, so idk.

Though I do agree the size of that icon is about the same size the award template should be, just shiny and pretty.

Looks too weird. Maybe I should try getting renders of the tekken 6 ranks...

Make it gold so that it actually looks like an award.
