I figured this would be useful even though forumotion isn't the most difficult or problem causing forum type. I'd just hold this here to spread my ideas for the members to connect or let you know about updates I've made. Nothing major as of yet.

We're pretty much working on emoticon/smiley adding and replacing. I created the staff talk board, and I've removed super contributors access to the private releases and made it team exclusive. Simply because I don't see how it makes sense to have someone that's just extremely good at mugen be able to view exclusive forum content when they may even have nothing to do with the team.

Don't get worried when I say these things now, they're purely speculation. I've been contemplating a new look/layout? Though it may be too soon and not even worth it. I thought something lighter might be nice but it's not extremely necessary. I've also thought about a Facebook page for us ( I know I know, Facebook ew) but it draws a decent amount of viewers that may be interested in the site.

I'll update this frequently when forum updates are made.

Another update. Changed the section of "Zeroz Pandemic" to E-diaries, as well as changed the description.

but a new layout isn't a need, i feel. a FB page would work tho, i'm surprised 1 isn't set up already, you should get started on that.

also, some1 *stares at Pach* should kreate a NewAge-like BG for tha NAM channel, it looks static with just that black BG on it. make sure tha words "NewAge MUGEN" are vertical, & will somehow be at least visible on 1 side, if not both sides, of tha channel page.

Go to the portal and click the FB like button!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's now a page. I'll admin whomever's up for running it by promoting releases, gaining activity, etc. I'm not too good with facebook, maybe you are. Once Mark's connected, i'll admin him.


Also, as far as the youtube page goes. I'm not too good with that either. I just made the FB and YT pages and slightly launched them hoping others would fill some gaps too. Again, if you'd like the log in information for the newage mugen youtube contact me and I'll give you the information and you can customize our page and upload newage mugen videos with us!

Also wanted to note along with making the facebook and adding the portal widget, I changed the profiles a bit and added some personal text per suggestion from a while ago. Also added a social bookmarking widget in the portal. Not many more updates will be taking full effect except for some slight image changes (who is online picture was changed for example) There's mostly updated profile options.

Alright, finally got a chance to like the page. Maybe you could add some info about the other Newagers? Just a suggestion.

Facebook page is going good, I linked to that and the YouTube page on the header navigation's now.

I also looked into a minor PM issue we're having here. We have it set to display a popup window when you receive a new personal message. I've concluded that ad-blocker MUST be off for this site and all profiles must check to display it in a window while they receive a pm. If this still doesn't work, then it's just our forum theme and there's not much we can do without switching themes. So be sure to look at your message bar in the navigation's to make sure it doesn't say "new message" and that you've potentially missed something.

May I know who are the other admins in the FB page? Also if you guys need help in managing the YT channel, i'm here.

It's actually just you and I currently. Nobody else has requested the job. Feel free to work on the youtube page construction! I'll pm you the log-in information.

Also made the personal text visible without the "Personal Text:" label in front of it. It should be available for use in your UCP, if something's wrong let me know.

Signavatar's domain returned, so we got our banners back.

I recolored the tab for a new pm. When you have a new pm, it'll stand out on the top bar as bright red, hard to miss. Hopefully everyone will no longer have pm issues.

Can we get rid of that pain in the ass Bayonetta newage banner that you see every now and then? It kills the whole Newage "We are the best in the world at what we do." theme IMO

If it's chosen widely and not just between us then sure. It was made by AZ entered in the banner competition and made it to the finals. I said I'd add all the finalists.

New plans, I need some feedback though.


Rather than have those poorly made awards in the Portal I was considering a profile field (the text under your avatar/ in your profile for public view i.e: posts, points, reputation, age, etc) In said profile field I'd have a trophy icon image appear in the field with the competition name/year and an award placed under your profile instead. This can also hold for future reference in having more competitions.


Another thing, I've recreated the database due to some staff request. It's private and isn't viewable by anything lower than mods. We're in construction on it currently, and awaiting anyone that may want to receive a database mod spot and help us construct it a bit more. Post here if you're interested.

I implemented it. The way it's set up though, I'll be making separate awards for every competition to add under the profile field, I think it looks alright.

I think the trophy is too big. Why not imitate PS3's achievement design? Use a box with a border as a template and then add an awesome design and shiz. Just a suggestion though.
