We havent had any new 2D fighting games in a long time.

Street Fighter franchise went to 3D/3.5D since Street fighter 4 and Mvc3, meaning cvsnk2 and street fighter III 3rd strike were the last true 2D fighters.

SNK Neo Geo havent made a 2D fighter KOF since XIII, so now we players who grew up with those games are the old men of the FGC and mugen.

Now JUS mugen anime characters seem to be more popular and KOF and SF characters are into obscurity i feel.

What do you guys think? what is better and will we continue to have love for the old school 2D fighting game characters in mugen?

I have always preferred 2D over 3D since sf2, kof, fatal fury, mk 1-3 etc
and the marvel vs capcom series apart from 3 onwards

im just old school.

I would say... JUS is interesting, as are any fighting game characters, but JUS also has its limitations, such as a lack of smooth animation in most cases.

That said, I'll always be a 2D gamer over a 3D gamer any day the week.
