This is a high end stage that was custom made to high specifications.
It is designed only for Mugen 1.1 premium content enthusiasts with high end graphics gaming PCs capable of HD/4K gaming of most PC games made in last 10 years only. It is recommended to have a Video Card from Nvidia or Radeon Manufactured after 2013 with atleast 3GB of Video memory available to use this OPenGL content

The inspiration for this was random when I was staring at a blank screen.
Then tekken 2 yoshimitsu theme (ps1 version) came on and so I decided to use a very old sketch as a template and rework my concept from there.
I Showed margatroid the concept after we were done with shrine of the forgotten god back in 2020, and one thing led to another

It's been a while since Me & GDM started collabing, and it seems these get better each time. As you can see, these are very dark-fantasy oriented, shouldn't come off as surprise that we both are into the genre & our art-styles mesh pretty well.

My objective is a proof of concept with this thematic using our designs.
And this one is a bit special, since it is the default stage I chose for the original character I'm working on, so I took special care with it. I wanted a lotus garden-type of stage, but as you can see, it is not a normal garden, although seemingly peaceful, there's something ominous about it with the giant rose in the backdrop whose black tendrils extend through all the stage.

The word "Halcyon" comes from a story in Greek mythology about the halcyon bird, which had the power to calm the rough ocean waves every December so she could nest. Like those calm waters, halcyon has come to mean a sense of peace or tranquility. People often use the phrase halcyon days to refer idyllically to a calmer, more peaceful time in their past.
Halcyon in this context refers to the calm before the storm.
