Hey ladz, I thought this was worth discussing since somebody posted a video relating to the topic on discord recently.
For those unaware, over a year or so ago, OldGamer, a previously highly active Newagemugen member announced his retirement from Mugen due to burnout/health issues from Mugen and spending too much time helping people for free to the point it was affecting him in a negative way.
2 weeks after he announced his retirement, to many peoples confusion he reappeared with his own personal Mugen JUS themed website and continued making regular posts with heavy activity on other Mugen sites according to some members here.
Because of that, there was some confusion and angst caused among some members who assumed that he was being dishonest to Newagemugen community and only quit Newagemugen to start his own personal ventures or whatever the case may be.
In This video, oldgamer for the first time personally reveals himself and addresses and explains most of the things I know many of you here were unsure about, and confirms that this was not the case. I invite all of you familiar with his work to watch and listen to what he has to say as it is very informative about the Mugen community as a whole.
and I just also wanted to add that as a whole, Newagemugen understands the extreme time, effort, and mental/physical demands involved in creating personalised Mugen/graphical content for people - which is the main reason why in 2018 our community decided to move away from free creation/tutorials in exchange for commission based professional services only.
As OldGamer explains very well in this video, Mugen creation is ALOT of TIME and HARD WORK and is not for everyone.
And although we may all have our own opinions on quality standards, creation and such, we can all agree that we appreciate all the hard work both paid, and non-paid offered by the many great Mugen creators in the Wider Mugen community.
Salute to OldGamer and his help and charitable contributions to the Mugen community!
