Cryptocurrency: Never really got into it. Seemed too fickle a thing for me to really want to do. I have friends who do it and I think my dad still mines too.
NFTs: From what I've been seeing, it's a scam. Basically many people have to decide that what link to a picture you're trying to sell has value. There's also a blockchain which I don't know why people should care about that either. Granted you could easily right click+Save As or screenshot it but whatever. Plus it's not regulated so people steal art and try to sell it as there own. Part of me is surprised this has caught on so much, the other part of me is not surprised that people are easily getting scammed.

This is so fkn true. I've looked into NFT.
Its something that comes up in conversation all the time in the graphic design/digital art circles, and I'm a skeptical mothafokka by nature lol.
Especially when it involves crazy easy get rich quick schemes requiring minimal effort.
and realized its not something in line with my personal goals and focuses as far as creativity and art/design go.
I know I could easily capitalize on it if I chose to - its not hard to create a coin wallet, join Opensea website and start uploading original art baseball card collectibles etc, but if anyone can do that and steal my art, or I can steal other peoples art, then whats the damn point lol.
There was a mugen guy I talked to that has an NFT Mugen project I made inquiries with on how he intended to do it to see if there was anyway to capitalize on it, but ultimately it meant using countless peoples work without permission, which is already edited work using borrowed intellectual property to begin with which imo is a recipe for trouble once you add the monetary factor
