Hello everyone hope yall having a good and safe time with family.

I have been thinking on making a mugen project and I remembered a game that I used to play when I was a kid back in the arcade which is Final Fight Revenge and I thought it was cool back then.

I was hoping for a sequel of the game to do justice since the game never got a sequel so I decided to take matters with my hands and learn about making a good mugen project.

so I took the ownership to make this project as my first mugen project because I always wanted to make a really good mugen game and see what mugen can offer to the next level in term of 2D fighting game.

I would like to thank everyone who was guiding me step by step I just managed to rip a lifebar I manged to rip other materials:

Gameplay will be either a POTS style gameplay with CVS sprites or 3rd Strike gameplay with totally new CPS3 sprites my objective is to make a playable and competitive Mugen game so people play it and do tournaments.

I will work on the lifebar making it glow green and add a lifebar portraits showing the character's eyes to give it the competitive looks

you probably did not embed them properly.

So are you making a fullgame or a screenpack?

Full game and the logo might be re-worked i have suggestions my friends to call it these titles:
Final Fight X : Law & Disorder or Final Fight Revenge : 2nd LockDown , Final Fight Revenge : 2nd Chaos

but for now let's focus on making the lifebar and ripping the stages from the original game and try to remake it and make it look better on Mugen.

If I were you, my personal suggestion would be to start working on the Fight.def before anything else.
Ripping stages and compiling portraits and things is good but it will only slow you down in the early stages.

It sounds like you are initially only making a screenpack and worrying about characters later.
For that reason you don't need to focus on portrait art or stages or the select screen for now.

If you get a working single player vs screen completed, you can video showcase the first stage of your game progress.
Then rosters, images and those stages can come later. The lifebar is the only fiddly thing you will need to trial and error to make everything appear on screen correctly. That and fonts.

Kind of a suggestion but more feedback tbh.
If it's your first project and you never made a fullgame before i wouldn't be so ambitious this time around so start smaller or you will probably tap out.
You're talking about a full game with characters in CPS3 new style sprites which don't even exist yet.
You mentioned you ripped sprites for the first time which makes me assume maybe you arent a spriter or coder.
In that case those CPS3 sprites will cost you 100s of euros and even more to get the characters coded and will take months or even years.
I would just make a screenpack to start.
Until I see some progress in game screenshots I cant really say much more so I'll wait till then.
And thats my filthy feedback

a very interesting idea for a fullgame.
The only thing i dont like is the power bars are in the middle of the screen instead of the corner.

I see you made reference with my old unreleased lost nexus screen pack. I will be keeping a eye in this topic thread, for sure.
