Hello, everyone. I'm sure not a lot of you are reading this because most of you have given up on this place (understandably so.) I check back from time to time and with pretty much 0 promotion or activity there's still registering members daily/weekly and guest visits plus some older users that still stick around.

Basically what i'm trying to find out (publicly now, there's been a brief staff discussion already) is if there's anyone that's interested in trying to help rebuild the place. I've got some ideas, I just don't have the time or patience to start this from the ground up by myself. Most of the other staff is busy or net-less, but some of them are willing to help as long as I (and others) are willing to help and continue to put in the effort.

My ideas really only entail:
- a theme redo, a new banner (all that simple fun stuff.)
- re-promotion start spreading the word again via youtube/other forums/sigs/etc.
- appointing someone to take over the Facebook. I haven't looked at it in months but I can verify that it did help out with new views. So anyone really that's willing to try running that how MP and I used too is totally able too, just let me know in this thread.

-New chat room? I'm usually on Discord, i really like that app. A lot of the Newage staff and a few other old heads gather together in a discord room but they're rarely on. So if we could get together in a place that's preferably not XAT or Skype, that'd be cool. Maybe we could set up a discord room and see how other users like the app.

-This is always on the idea least but at this point in time (At least to me) it's the smallest priority. A release pack, while it's a really good/fun way to get members/views it's tedious and time consuming for the quality of stuff we like to put out. So if anyone's interested in that or has any ideas regarding that post here.

- Perhaps some new staff? I'd love to keep who's on the staff on, but if they're too busy or whatever the case may be there may be some people that have stuck around that'd be willing to help out more.

- Anyone that's experienced in forumotion/css/html i'd love help in any rebuilding ideas you may have. Forumotion itself is incredibly easy, HTML isn't too hard either it's CSS that i fail at, lol. That's more Zeroz' specialty (forum adjustments) but he's pretty busy. He's willing to help here and there but he can't do it all alone because I imagine after months of inactivity here there's some panel issues that need to be fixed.

- Could also use a new News person now that JayJay isn't around anymore. Anyone that's interested lemme know.

I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I'm just trying to brainstorm a few options here because I truly do love this place, it's been a part of my life for nearly 8 years, and I don't want to just keep giving up on it, but it's hard to stay invested when real life is so demanding and there's not many around to help or they're in the same situation as you.

Basically if it comes down to us just saying fuck it though i'll probably disable new registers and either shut is down in a way where we could be restored, or just leave it up and walk away. But I don't see the point in wasting people's time anymore if there's people willing to help.

There was a time last year when people couldn't register without getting admin approval but I think Gen fixed it - there is definitely still a lot of interest in the scene still if membership limit is exceeding the maximum cap allowed...

I am working with a good dedicated creator group outside of here as well and have access to a lot of exclusive high quality mugen content and info, all of which will only ever be shared here so yeah, business as usual, lets keep things here rolling!

yes, I think you need a whole new staff crew if you want this place to become alive again, a non active one is what generally kills the forums.

I can't help as staff (I'm not very active in the community) but I can post this topic in a couple of places telling others that you're looking for it,....before that, can I suggest you to make the forum visible for guests too?, I think that would be better to attract people willing to help in that aspect, so they can check the place before registering, some people may not even bother to check it if is just available for users with an account.

I think keeping login required is still a good idea.
It sets this place apart from the other sites.
Depsite requiring login, there are still 100s of new members coming monthly.
There is some psychology to this - It adds mystique to the site and attracts more eager members It also stops the floodgates from being open to everyone - in my experience this has always worked well to filter alot of drama/nonsense shitposting etc on other sites.
All the original NAM members here are serious creators with a certain level of quality that people know to expect before even coming here.

Also regarding banners, logos, themes etc, I was wondering if we should open a new logo/banner competition or poll thread in Graphics - I think that would be fun.

About the current skin, I like the black more than the current grey #justsayin XD

The new theme update actually stops a lot of things inside the forum from breaking (Zeroz fixed us up with it, there's still minor touches we need to do like color changes/text/etc.) He made the no new post/new post icons as well. I made the new topic icons (Stage,Char) etc. I also put money into the place, for a total of 12 months members and guests will be ad free. For another 12 months (after forumotion updates us) We will now be "newagemugen.com" at that point i may make us guest friendly for views, right now i'd rather have us for registers only, mostly because I don't see much happening until some changes/announcements are made. I also removed a lot of useless emotes and added a pack of similar ones, I've assumed position of temporary news (When i have time) the FB is okay as is until we start having announcement worth news here.

I appreciate your help, guys. Anything you're willing to do is awesome. As far as staff goes, I will still be looking (as of right now it's me and zeroz, idk if watta/gen/az are gonna come back or not.) If nobody can be found i'll run it solo or just with Z because the place isn't that large

for a banner comp: totally good idea (Worked well here before) should probably wait until we have more visits though. I feel like it'd be dead right now.

@Diss Yes sir, lol. Place has always been close to me, I just never managed to make the time with working 50+ hours a week and doing a decent amount of traveling. Now i do most of the work from my phone when I'm out and my laptop when I've got free time or vacation days.

Yeah that's the SSL Certificate we decided not to buy. The only way to fix it is to buy that and go "HTTPS" it would suck though because we'd have to shut down the forum for a few days and go back and change every single link on the forum to HTTPS in order for the SSL to do its job, and even with help that's something that would suck dick lol. I'll look more into it.

Good luck getting new staff

If you were to rebuild then I think you'd need a focus on something that isn't offered by other communities to get some attention towards here, the need to spread out your creations everywhere has kind of died out after Guild and Free For All took over and have larger focus on characters. IKEMEN's been getting more popular but a lot of the community for it seems to be sitting on Discord servers.

As for chatrooms, only viable choice nowadays is Discord, it's incredibly popular and used by many, it's killed Skype for most users and Xat's been losing steam for years, not a very appealing platform for many either.

Has much changed in terms of mugen content in the last 2 years? It's been a rather long time since I looked into it.

i'm all for doin' what i can. i've admittedly been on a bit of a laze mode these past few months, but i'm workin' on changin' that shit. i still have too much i wanna kreate, & i keep gettin' more ideas in that realm, so yeah, i ain't done yet.

besides all that, NAM's tha 1st place to truly see me as a kreator when i decided to completely make that transition, & embrace that kreation's not limited to 1 or 2 things, & for that alone i'll alwayz be grateful & loyal to this place [i still rep NAM in my vids], & tha folks that abide here, period.

Some of you might notice a few subtle changes already.
