I have been screwing around with bits and pieces I had on my computer and found this concept for a stage.

I changed the concept. The cannon will be anti saltellite firing up, so it makes easier to see (don't have to high jump to enjoy) . I drawn the floor massive earth floor myself. It gives it a "Zone of the Enders" aspect which i like. But we'll see how things go.

It's looking good. I like the foreground.

Your ships don't seem to blend to well with the cannon though, imo.

i changed the whole concept it wasn't looking too good when you actually play. pretty frustrating...

It looks a bit better to me. I like that the canon seems like it's farther away so the blend doesn't bother me as much.

for the blend, the plane's color has been changed to match the cannon on the last screenshot.

I made a second stage that i personally prefer.

I am very happy with the original resolution of the cannon ( 2000x1700 roughly pixel). could be in an HD stage but i don't make HD stuff.
(ignore the black around the lazer. It's a concept, not a screenshot, althought the stage is identical).

The cannon slowly appears by moving up while you play. I love the feeling of having such a huge thing moving. I wish i had more material this big.

That does look tons better.

Widescreen Video. (i wish i could play a full widescreen mugen like that...). Effects need to be updated of course.

Stage Ready -

I have a few hesitations still about:

- timing of the electricity
- position of the energy particles during charging (inside or inside+outside)
inside particles makes sense, but is concretely ugly / inside+outside particles looks better but is theoritically discussable...

One last problem ----> the stage is 100 Mo. (already cropped) - So it's up to you guys...

To be honest, we had stages bigger then that :P

yeah i know ExShadow is known to have sometimes incredibly heavy stages...

I'm just not used to that and i think most of people are reluctant to download more than 50 mb but maybe it's just me i dunno.

I guess it's worth it, i hope :) .

I'll upload it tonight because i have limited internet at home, so i gotta go to uni to do it.
